{"id":90,"date":"2018-02-28T12:58:56","date_gmt":"2018-02-28T12:58:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/priorityonemedical.co.uk\/website\/?page_id=90"},"modified":"2021-05-17T11:02:48","modified_gmt":"2021-05-17T11:02:48","slug":"level-2-cardiopulmonary-resuscitation-and-automated-external-defibrillation-cpr-aed","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/priorityonemedical.co.uk\/website\/first-aid\/level-2-cardiopulmonary-resuscitation-and-automated-external-defibrillation-cpr-aed\/","title":{"rendered":"Level 2 Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation  (CPR &#038; AED)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 id=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-advanced-heading-4e3d10c6\" class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-advanced-heading wp-block-themeisle-blocks-advanced-heading-4e3d10c6\">Due to the relaxation of Covid restrictions we will be restarting training courses from June<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides Learners with the knowledge and practical competencies needed to safely perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation (RQF) qualification has been designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities to provide first aid and\/or use an AED in an emergency.<br>This qualification outlines a range of knowledge and practical skills in providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and using an automated external defibrillator (AED) safely. Learners will practise assessing and managing a casualty who needs CPR and the safe use of an AED.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The objective of the qualification is to benefit Learners by enabling them to attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of first aid situations and safely use an AED.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During this half day course, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to administer effective CPR and use an AED when dealing with an emergency situation. Topics covered include: CPR, choking, safe use of an AED, using an AED on a child, AED maintenance and more<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>S<strong>tructure<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This qualification contains 1 mandatory unit with a Total Qualification Time (TQT) of 6 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Learners must complete all assessments successfully within the registration period to achieve the qualification. The maximum period to achieve this qualification, including any referrals is 3 weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TQT is the total number of hours required for a Learner to achieve this qualification. It has 2 elements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) is the time a Learner is being taught and assessed under the immediate guidance of a Trainer\/Assessor, which for this qualification is 5 GLH (4 hours and 35 minutes minimum), and<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 The number of hours a Learner will reasonably be likely to spend in preparation and study as directed by but not under the immediate guidance or supervision of a Trainer, e.g. pre-course reading, which for this qualification is 1 hour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Entry Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Learners must be at least 16 years old on the first day of the training..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Assessment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Practical assessments, Multiple Choice Question Papers and continuous formative assessment conducted throughout the course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Certification<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Successful Learners will receive a Nationally Recognised Level 2 Award in CPR &amp; AED (RQF) certificate which is valid for 1 year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides Learners with the knowledge and practical competencies needed to safely perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
