This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides Learners with the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in basic life support and the management of anaphylaxis. The content of this qualification has been approved by the Anaphylaxis Campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis (RQF) qualification has been designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, at home or in voluntary and community activities, to provide basic life support and manage anaphylaxis when dealing with an emergency<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This qualification should enable Learners to attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of first aid situations including managing a casualty with anaphylaxis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The objective of the qualification is to benefit Learners by enabling them to attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to provide BLS and manage anaphylaxis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Over a 1day period, successful Learners will attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of first aid situations, including: managing a casualty with anaphylaxis, CPR, common anaphylaxis triggers, signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis, treatment and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Structure<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n This qualification contains 1 mandatory unit with a Total Qualification Time (TQT) of 5 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Learners must complete all assessments successfully within the registration period to achieve the qualification. The maximum period to achieve this qualification including any referrals is 3 weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n TQT is the total number of hours required for a Learner to achieve this qualification. It has 2 elements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) is the time a Learner is being taught and assessed under the immediate guidance of a Trainer\/Assessor, which for this qualification is 4 (3 hrs 45 mins minimum) GLH, and<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 The number of hours a Learner will reasonably be likely to spend in preparation and study as directed by but not under the immediate guidance or supervision of a Trainer, e.g. pre-course reading, which or this qualification is 1 hour<\/p>\n\n\n\n Entry Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Learners must be at least 16 years old on the first day of the training..<\/p>\n\n\n\n There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Assessment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Practical assessments and continuous formative assessment conducted throughout the course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Certification<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Successful Learners will receive a Nationally Recognised Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis (RQF) certificate which is valid for 1 year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides Learners with the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in basic life support and the management of anaphylaxis.
