The content of this qualification has been approved by the Anaphylaxis Campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis (RQF) qualification has been designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, at home or in voluntary and community activities, to provide basic life support and manage anaphylaxis when dealing with an emergency<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This qualification should enable Learners to attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of first aid situations including managing a casualty with anaphylaxis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The objective of the qualification is to benefit Learners by enabling them to attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to provide BLS and manage anaphylaxis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over a 1day period, successful Learners will attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of first aid situations, including: managing a casualty with anaphylaxis, CPR, common anaphylaxis triggers, signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis, treatment and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Structure<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This qualification contains 1 mandatory unit with a Total Qualification Time (TQT) of 5 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Learners must complete all assessments successfully within the registration period to achieve the qualification. The maximum period to achieve this qualification including any referrals is 3 weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TQT is the total number of hours required for a Learner to achieve this qualification. It has 2 elements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) is the time a Learner is being taught and assessed under the immediate guidance of a Trainer\/Assessor, which for this qualification is 4 (3 hrs 45 mins minimum) GLH, and<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 The number of hours a Learner will reasonably be likely to spend in preparation and study as directed by but not under the immediate guidance or supervision of a Trainer, e.g. pre-course reading, which or this qualification is 1 hour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Entry Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Learners must be at least 16 years old on the first day of the training..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Assessment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Practical assessments and continuous formative assessment conducted throughout the course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Certification<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Successful Learners will receive a Nationally Recognised Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis (RQF) certificate which is valid for 1 year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides Learners with the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in basic life support and the management of anaphylaxis.
