{"id":104,"date":"2018-02-28T13:04:34","date_gmt":"2018-02-28T13:04:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/priorityonemedical.co.uk\/website\/?page_id=104"},"modified":"2018-03-07T16:25:18","modified_gmt":"2018-03-07T16:25:18","slug":"level-3-paediatric-first-aid","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/priorityonemedical.co.uk\/website\/level-3-paediatric-first-aid\/","title":{"rendered":"Level 3 Paediatric First Aid (Ofsted Recognised)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) has been specifically designed to meet the criteria set by the Department for Education\u2019s EYFS Framework and is ideal for:<\/p>\n<p>Those who have gained a level 2 and\/or level 3 childcare qualification and have entered into an early years setting and wish to be included in the staff to child ratios to comply with EYFS requirements.<\/p>\n<p>Registered childminders and assistants who are required to hold a current and full paediatric first aid certificate in order to comply with the EYFS requirements.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone who has a non-professional involvement with infants and children, such as parents, grandparents and want to learn key paediatric first aid skills<\/p>\n<p>This qualification is for people who work with or look after children, enabling them to have a basic knowledge of how to deal with paediatric first aid situations, illnesses, injuries and emergencies.<\/p>\n<p>Learners should be able to demonstrate the practical administration of safe, prompt, effective first aid in situations which can arise when looking after children<\/p>\n<p><strong>Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The objective of the qualification is to benefit Learners by enabling them to attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of first aid situations when looking after children.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this qualification is to prepare the Learner to develop the skills and knowledge needed to provide effective first aid to children and babies.<\/p>\n<p>Over a 2 day period, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations, including: assessing an emergency situation, dealing with an unresponsive infant or child, CPR, choking, meningitis, head and spinal injuries, anaphylaxis, asthma and more<br \/>\nStructure<\/p>\n<p>This qualification contains 2 mandatory units with a Total Qualification Time (TQT) of 16 hours.<\/p>\n<p>Learners must complete all assessments successfully within the registration period to achieve the qualification. The maximum period to achieve this qualification, including any referrals is 6 weeks.<\/p>\n<p>TQT is the total number of hours required for a Learner to achieve this qualification.
