The Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid for Drivers qualification is a training course which is designed for those who are involved in the driving industry and require a first aid qualification to meet the Certificate of Professional Competency (CPC) first aid requirements in addition to providing the knowledge and skills to operate in these different and often challenging environments.
Overview
This qualification is aimed at anyone who requires a first aid qualification for working in the driving industry.
The aim of the course is to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to undertake the role of an emergency first aider in the driving and low risk work environment.
The syllabus is comprehensive and covers a diverse content recommended for the CPC.
The teaching time is a minimum of 7 hours and the qualification is valid for 3 years.
Structure
This qualification contains 1 mandatory unit with a Total Qualification Time (TQT) of 5 hours.
Learners must complete all assessments in the unit successfully within the registration period to achieve the qualification.
The maximum period to achieve this qualification, including any referrals is 4 weeks.
TQT is the total number of hours required for a Learner to achieve this qualification. It has 2 elements:
* Guided Learning Hours (GLH) is the time a Learner is being taught and assessed under the immediate guidance of a Trainer/Assessor, which for this qualification is 4 GLH (minimum), and
* The number of hours a Learner will reasonably be likely to spend in preparation and study, including assessment, as directed by, but not under the immediate guidance or supervision of a Trainer, e.g. precourse reading, which for this qualification is 1 hour
Entry Requirements
Learners must be at least 18 years old on the first day of the training.
There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy.

Successful Learners will receive a Nationally Recognised Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid for Drivers certificate which is valid for 3 years.
